Artisan Wines in an Urban Bodega

Our little bodega in Logroño’s city centre is Rioja’s first urban bodega (winery). It’s a compact yet multifunctional space, where Javi and Conchi also run their winery architecture and interiors practice.

In these few hundred square metres, we manage the entire winemaking process, from the moment the grapes arrive to labelling and sealing the bottles ready for sale. We do everything by hand and always with the same care and passion that we apply to tending our vines. This craftsmanship and dedication has earned our wines a place on the wine lists of dozens of Michelin starred restaurants around the world.

We're also perfectly placed for exploring Logroño’s burgeoning restaurant zone, at just a 10 minute walk from Plaza de El Espolón.

“Urban Cellar” Tour

You don’t need to visit our vineyards to feel our passion for growing wine. Your visit begins with an introduction to our vineyards by one of our knowledgeable team, who will show you how the Arizcuren family has cultivated its vineyards over decades and walk you through the past and present of traditional viticulture in La Rioja.

We’ll then take a tour of the bodega, taking in all the elements of making and aging wine in this compact urban winery, and highlighting the artisan methods, such as aging in clay amphorae, foudres or barrels, and traditional manual labelling and wax sealing, that distinguish our small, artisan processes from industrial production.

We’ll finish the tour with a tasting of four wines, accompanied by some of our own organic olive oil and bread from a wood-fired oven.

  • Duration: 90 mins.
  • Groups: 2 pax min, max 20 pax.
  • Price: €35/person
  • Hours: From Monday to Friday 10:30, 12:30, 16:00, 18:00 / Saturday 10:00 or 15:30, /Sunday 10:30 and 13:00.
This is an ideal tour for enjoying a slice of wine culture with small-scale, artisan charm.

“Spirit of Arizcuren” Tour

A deep dive into the Arizcuren project. Explore our origins, visit our vineyards in Quel, discover their history and learn about the people who have tended them through centuries. After all, “It’s not just about making wine”, as Javier Arizcuren says, “it’s about conserving a heritage that would otherwise disappear”.

Our trip into the Sierra de Yerga begins at 15th century Quel Castle, to take in its panoramic views, before heading up Monte Yerga, stopping at various vineyards to explore their different soils, climates, grape varieties and the techniques we use to cultivate them. Our climb ends high in the mountains, at a pre-phyloxera vineyard, our living museum of winemaking in Rioja Baja, where near forgotten traditions and techniques are preserved.

We finish the tour by tasting wines from the vineyards we’ve just visited, literally immersed in the soils and landscapes we’ve just explored, in our hand-dug 16th-century wine cellar, where wines were still being made less than a century ago. We’ll accompany the tasting with a light lunch, prepared with traditional local produce.
